Diabetic Foot Ulcer
- Evaluate lower Extremity Amputation risk
III. Criteria
- Score 1: Midfoot or hindfoot ulcer location
- Score 1: No palpable Pedal Pulses (ischemia)
- Score 1: Protection Sensation absent (Neuropathy)
- Score 1: Signs of Bacterial Infection
- Score 1: Ulcer area >= 1 cm^2
- Score 1: Ulcer depth reaches Muscle, tendon or deeper
IV. Interpretation: Lower Extremity Amputation risk
- Score 0-2:
- Minor amputation risk (distal to transverse tarsal joint) : 4.9%
- Major amputation risk (above ankle): 0.5%
- Score 3-4:
- Minor amputation risk (distal to transverse tarsal joint): 22.1%
- Major amputation risk (above ankle): 6.4%
- Score 5-6
- Minor amputation risk (distal to transverse tarsal joint): 32.5%
- Major amputation risk (above ankle): 28.8%
