- Use externally only
- Do not apply to mucous membranes, lips or eyes
IV. Medications
- AmLactin (5, 7, 12 or 15%) cream or lotion
- Lac-Hydrin (12%, 120 mg/ml) cream or lotion
V. Mechanism
- Alpha Hydroxy Acid Exfoliant
- Lactic Acid is neutralized when combined with ammonium hydroxide to produce Ammonium Lactate
VI. Dosing

Dry Skin
- Use once to twice per day for 3 weeks
- Taper frequency to 1-3 days per week
- Aging
- Apply 1-2 days each week
VII. Adverse Effects
- Skin stinging, burning or redness (common)
- Symptoms are typically limited to first few minutes after application
- Tolerated better after first few applications
- Photosensitivity
- Use Sunscreen
