    1. No supplementation needed in most infants <6 months
  3. Specific Vitamins
    1. Vitamin D (needs 200 to 300 IU/day)
      1. Sunlight exposure
        1. Wearing only a diaper for 30 minutes per week
        2. Fully clothed with no hat for two hours per week
      2. Supplement 200-300 IU/day
        1. Indicated for inadequate sunlight or dark skin
    2. Vitamin K
      1. Prevents Hemorrhagic disease of the newborn
      2. Single 0.5 to 1 mg IM at birth
    3. Iron
      1. Iron-fortified foods needed by 6 months of age
    4. Vitamin B12
      1. Supplementation if strictly vegetarian mother
      2. Supplement: 0.3 to 0.5 mcg/day
    5. Fluoride Supplementation
