  1. Assess whether a patient will live long enough to benefit from a specific screening measure or medical intervention

IV. Criteria

  1. Age (5 year increments from 60 to over 85 years old)
  2. Diabetes Mellitus
  3. Cancer
  4. Chronic lung disease
  5. Heart Failure
  6. Body Mass Index (<25 kg/m2)
  7. Current Tobacco use
  8. Functional capacity
    1. Difficulty bathing
    2. Difficulty managing finances
    3. Difficulty walking several blocks
    4. Difficulty pushing or pulling heavy objects
