1. Lactose Intolerance testing
Technique
1. Obtain baseline fasting Blood Glucose
2. Patient ingests 1 to 1.5 grams lactose per kilogram
3. Measure serial Blood Glucose levels
Interpretation: Positive Test for Lactose Intolerance
1. Blood Glucose rises <20 mg/dl above fasting level
2. Intestinal symptoms of Lactose Intolerance present
Efficacy
1. False positive rate: 20%
2. False negative rate: 20%
