II. Definition

  1. Begins after contraction starts
  2. Ends after contraction is over
  3. Contrast with Early Deceleration
  4. Subtle Late Decelerations may also be significant

III. Causes

  1. More ominous if associated with decreased variability
  2. Fetal acidosis
  3. Fetal Hypoxemia
  4. Uteroplacental insufficiency
