Pterygium (C0033999)

Definition (MSHCZE) Duplikatura spojivky, jejíž progresivní okraj přerůstá okraj rohovky, směřuje k jejímu centru a může postupně narušovat zrak. Častěji vzniká mediálně. V našich oblastech se udává častější vznik u lidí pracujících v zevním prostředí. P. se odstraňuje chirurgicky. Podobné změny mohou vznikat po poranění (jizevnaté p.), pseudopterygium. (cit. Definition (MSH) An abnormal triangular fold of membrane in the interpalpebral fissure, extending from the conjunctiva to the cornea, being immovably united to the cornea at its apex, firmly attached to the sclera throughout its middle portion, and merged with the conjunctiva at its base. Definition (MSH) A yellowish thickened lesion on the conjunctiva near the CORNEA representing a benign degenerative change in the CONJUNCTIVA caused by the leakage and deposition of certain blood proteins through the permeable capillaries near the LIMBUS.
