      1. Symptoms attributable to Atrial Fibrillation with minimal effect on patient general quality of life
      2. Minimal or infrequent symptoms
      3. Single episode of Atrial Fibrillation without Syncope or Heart Failure
    3. Class 2
      1. Symptoms attributable to Atrial Fibrillation with minor effect on patient general quality of life
      2. Mild symptom awareness in patients with persistent Atrial Fibrillation OR
      3. Rare episodes (less than a few per year) in patients with intermittent Atrial Fibrillation
    4. Class 3
      1. Symptoms attributable to Atrial Fibrillation with moderate effect on patient general quality of life
      2. Moderate symptom awareness on most days in patients with persistent Atrial Fibrillation OR
      3. Common episodes (at least every few months) or severe symptoms in intermittent Atrial Fibrillation
    5. Class 4
      1. Symptoms attributable to Atrial Fibrillation with severe effect on patient general quality of life
      2. Very unpleasant symptoms in persistent Atrial Fibrillation OR
      3. Frequent and highly symptomatic episodes in intermittent Atrial Fibrillation OR
      4. Syncope attributed to Atrial Fibrillation OR
      5. Congestive Heart Failure attributed to Atrial Fibrillation
