II. Pathophysiology

  1. Infected cystic blood filled spaces in hepatic lobules
  2. Complication of Bacillary Angiomatosis caused by Bartonella Henselae (or B. quintana)
  3. Occurs in AIDS (CD4 Count <100 cells/mm3) or other immunocompromised patients

III. Symptoms

  1. Anorexia
  2. Nausea
  3. Abdominal Pain
  4. Fever
  5. Weight loss
