Technique
1. 24 hour collection
2. Measure after acute gout episode resolves
3. Patient must be on purine free diet for accuracy
Interpretation
1. Normal
  1. Uric Acid excretion: 250-750mg per 24 hours
2. Over-production
  1. Uric Acid excretion >750mg per 24 hours
3. Under-excretion
  1. Uric Acid excretion <750mg per 24 hours
