Weber Classification
1. Weber A
  1. Fibula Fracture below syndesmosis
2. Weber B
  1. Fibula Fracture at syndesmosis, may tear ligament
3. Weber C
  1. Fibula Fracture, above syndesmosis, ligament torn
  2. Unstable
Signs and Symptoms
1. Pain
2. Swelling
3. Inability to bear weight
4. Significant deformity if dislocation present
Management
1. Reduce Fracture dislocation
2. Immobilize in plaster splint
3. Elevate
4. Cast for 6-8 weeks
5. Surgical Indication: Ankle mortise disrupted
  1. Surgery needed to Restore anatomic position of talus
  2. Ensure smooth articular surface of ankle
Complications
1. Arthritis likely if poorly aligned ankle joint surface
