- DVT responsible for 90% of pulmonary emboli
- Diagnosis of Deep Vein Thrombosis
- Suspected Pulmonary Embolism (intermediate suspicion)
- Advantages
- Can be done in the office setting
- Doppler highly sensitive for deep vein thrombi
- Disadvantages
- Not sensitive for detecting thrombi in calves
