Pathophysiology
1. Voluntary Noisy Breathing or cough
Signs
1. Intermittent noisy cough or snuffling
2. Does not occur with sleep or when child is distracted
3. Occurs irregularly while awake
4. Child can produce Noisy Breathing on request
Management: Break habit
1. Reminder technique
  1. Child wears a sheet knotted around chest
  2. Child no longer wears sheet when cough disappears
2. Hypnotism
