Indications: High Risk for Ovarian Cancer
1. Hereditary Ovarian Cancer Syndromes (BRCA1, BRCA2, Lynch II)
Protocol
1. Oophorectomy at age 35 or when childbearing complete
2. Estrogen Replacement after oophorectomy
Efficacy
1. Reduces Ovarian Cancer risk
2. Peritoneal Primary papillary serous tumors may occur
Adverse Effects
1. Premenopausal oophorectomy increases risk of cognitive decline
  1. Higher risk with younger age at oophorectomy
  2. Risk is countered if Estrogen Replacement is continued to age 50 years
