Breast Radiation Therapy

Indications
1. Breast Cancer (often performed with Breast Lumpectomy)
2. Highest benefit groups
  1. Four or more positive lymph nodes
  2. Advanced primary tumor
    1. Tumor larger than 5 cm diameter
    2. Tumor invading skin or musculature
Course
1. Five days per week for 6 weeks
Dose
1. Up to 6,000 Centigray over the 6 week treatment
Adverse Effects
1. Local Sunburn
2. Fatigue (can be quite limiting)
