1. Confirming presence of Ascites
Technique
1. Assistant presses ulnar hand vertically at mid-Abdomen
2. Examiner taps flank sharply with right hand
3. Examiner's left hand receives impulse on opposite flank
4. Anticipate time lag between tap and impulse received
Interpretation
1. Impulse received implies it was passed by Ascites
