  1. Indication: Dry eye evaluation
    1. Sjogren's Syndrome (Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca)
  2. Technique
    1. Performed by ophthalmology
    2. Instill 1% Rose Bengal dye at both eyes
    3. Conjunctival staining is quantitatively scored
      1. Devitalized Cornea and Conjunctiva takes up Rose Bengal stain
  3. Interpretation
    1. Stained areas of Conjunctiva suggests Sjogren's Syndrome
    2. Stain may identify Sjogren's Syndrome prior to symptom development
