Precautions
1. Do not perform if neck injury suspected
  1. Use Jaw Thrust instead
2. Avoid closing mouth or compressing chin soft-tissue
  1. Obstructs airway
Technique
1. One hand on forehead to tilt head back
  1. Infant
    1. Head in neutral position (sniffing position)
    2. Do not overextend head and neck
  2. Child and adult
    1. Head and neck slightly extended
    2. Line from chin to jaw angle perpendicular to floor
2. Use other hand's fingers under bony part of chin
  1. Do not use thumb to lift chin
  2. Lift mandible upward and outward
