- Causes
- Epstein-Barr Virus (Mononucleosis)
- Immunodeficiency (including HIV)
- Signs
- Vertical white striations on Tongue appear similar to hairs
- Distributed over lateral dorsum of Tongue (unilateral or bilateral)
- Labs: Indicated if no obvious Immunodeficiency
- Monospot
- HIV Test
- Management
- May respond to antiviral agents (may also recur after course completed)
- Acyclovir 800 mg 5 times daily for 1-3 weeks
- Ganciclovir 100 mg 3 times daily for 1-3 weeks
