II. Causes

  1. Manicure or Pedicure
  2. Nail Biting
  3. Nail rubbing or other manipulation

III. Pathophysiology

  1. Nail trauma injures cuticle and nail plate
  2. Cuticle may indent nail plate resulting in deformity (e.g. median Nail Dystrophy with midline nail indentation)
  3. Inflammation may occur at the proximal nail fold

IV. Management

  1. Avoid further nail manipulation or trauma
