- Represents 17% of Oral Lesions
- Incidence
- Palatal: 20-35%
- Mandibular: 7-10%
- Peaks over age 30 years
- More common in women
- Pathophysiology
- Common developmental exostosis occurs as adult
- Signs
- Bony, Lobulated outgrowth
- Distribution
- Palatal Torus
- Midline of Hard Palate
- Mandibular Torus
- Lingual aspect of Mandible (under Tongue)
- Evaluation
- Benign, except difficult to fit dentures
- Nodule not in the midline suggests cancer
