Topical Fluorouracil

Indications
1. Keratolytic
Preparations
1. Cream 5%
2. Solution 2%
Dosing
1. Apply bid for 3-4 weeks
Adverse effects
1. Irritation
2. Initial significant patient discomfort
3. Sun sensitizing (Use Sunscreen)
Precautions
1. Avoid in pregnancy and young children
2. May cause prolonged hypo-pigmentation
  1. Test first in cosmetically unimportant areas
  2. Hypopigmentation worse in dark skinned patients
3. Use sparingly on penile shaft
  1. Allow to dry completely
  2. Avoid scrotal contact
