1. Tobacco Cessation is critical
2. Long-term follow-up is mandatory
Protocol: Aortic Valve Replacement
1. Aspirin and Warfarin INR 1.8 to 2.2
  1. Normal ejection fraction and
  2. Normal sinus rhythm and
  3. Cardiac Risk Factors <2
2. Aspirin and INR 2.0 to 2.5
  1. More than 2 major Cardiac Risk Factors
3. Aspirin and INR 2.0 to 3.5
  1. Multiple Cardiac Risk Factors or Atrial Fibrillation
Protocol: Mitral Valve Replacement
1. Aspirin and Warfarin INR 2.0 to 2.5
  1. Normal ejection fraction and
  2. Normal sinus rhythm and
  3. Cardiac Risk Factors <2
2. Aspirin and INR 2.5 to 3.0
  1. More than 2 major Cardiac Risk Factors
3. Aspirin and INR 2.5 to 3.5
  1. Multiple Cardiac Risk Factors or Atrial Fibrillation
Protocol: Tricuspid Valve Replacement
1. Aspirin and INR 3.0 to 4.0
